Acceptable Use Policy

Quick summary

EscrowWays is Pakistan's escrow-protected marketplace for digital goods. To keep things safe for everyone, we have clear rules about what you can sell, what you can't, and how to behave on the platform. Break these rules and your account can be suspended or banned. This page explains everything in plain language — no legal tricks.

What you can sell on EscrowWays

We welcome legitimate digital products and services that you actually own or have the right to sell. Examples:

  1. Software license keys you purchased and never activated
  2. Digital gift cards from real brands (Steam, Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, etc.)
  3. Online course access and learning materials you created or have resale rights to
  4. Design templates, fonts, graphics, icons, and digital assets you made or licensed for resale
  5. E-books and digital publications you wrote or have rights to redistribute
  6. Web hosting and domain reseller services where you're authorized to resell
  7. Cloud service credits, API access, and developer tools you legitimately own
  8. Custom services — graphic design, writing, translation, programming, virtual assistance
  9. Game items, in-game currency, or accounts where the game's terms allow trading
  10. Mobile app subscriptions and premium service codes where the provider permits resale

If you're not sure whether something is allowed, email support@escrowways.com before listing.

What you cannot sell on EscrowWays

To protect buyers, sellers, and the platform, these are not allowed:

Strictly banned — instant ban for any listing

  1. Stolen, hacked, phished, or illegally obtained accounts of any kind
  2. Cracked software, keygens, license bypasses, or pirated content
  3. Anything that requires accessing another person's private data without consent
  4. Adult content, escort services, or sexually explicit material of any kind
  5. Weapons, ammunition, drugs, or anything illegal under Pakistani law
  6. Counterfeit goods, fake gift cards, or invalid/expired codes sold as working
  7. Phishing kits, malware, ransomware, or any hacking-as-a-service
  8. Personal information, leaked databases, breached credentials, or doxxing services
  9. Government documents, fake IDs, forged certificates, or identity-fraud tools
  10. Anything that promotes violence, terrorism, or harm to others
  11. Cryptocurrency mining services, ponzi schemes, or get-rich-quick offers
  12. Religious materials that promote hate against any community
  13. Medical products requiring prescription or licensed dispensing

Streaming and subscription accounts — allowed with proof of ownership

Selling access to streaming services (Netflix, Spotify, Disney+, YouTube Premium, ChatGPT Plus, Midjourney, Canva Pro, etc.) is a gray area. Many of these services' terms of service prohibit account sharing or resale.

You may list these only if you can prove all three things:

  1. You purchased the subscription yourself — show a receipt, invoice, or bank statement
  2. The original purchase is in your name — your CNIC name matches the payment method
  3. You haven't already sold or shared this account with someone else

For every streaming or subscription listing, you must upload proof of ownership before the listing goes live. Our admins review every submission. Listings without proof will be rejected.

Important warning: even with proof, the service provider may still consider the transfer a violation of their terms. If they suspend or terminate the account after you sell it, you're responsible for refunding the buyer. We strongly recommend disclosing this risk in your listing description.

If a service provider contacts us about a specific listing, we'll remove it without warning and refund any pending buyers. We may also suspend your seller account pending review.

How you should behave on the platform

When you use EscrowWays as a buyer or seller, you agree to:

Be honest about who you are

  1. Use your real name on your seller profile (matching your CNIC for verified accounts)
  2. Don't impersonate other people, businesses, brands, or organizations
  3. Don't create multiple accounts to bypass restrictions or manipulate ratings
  4. Provide a working email, phone number, and address we can actually reach you at
  5. Don't share your account login with anyone else

Be honest in your listings

  1. Describe products accurately — quantity, condition, restrictions, expiry dates, region locks
  2. Use your own photos or photos you have rights to use, not images copied from other sellers
  3. Don't promise delivery times you can't actually meet
  4. Disclose all important details upfront (e.g. "code works in Pakistan region only")
  5. Update your listing immediately if anything changes

Treat people with respect

  1. No harassment, threats, hate speech, bullying, or discrimination of any kind
  2. No spam, mass messaging, or off-platform solicitation
  3. Don't ask buyers to pay outside EscrowWays — that defeats the escrow protection
  4. Don't share buyers' or sellers' personal info publicly
  5. Reply to messages within a reasonable time (we recommend 24 hours on business days)
  6. Resolve disputes through the platform's dispute system, not through arguments

Anti-fraud rules

Fraud hurts everyone on the platform. The following are completely prohibited:

What buyers must not do

  1. File false disputes claiming non-delivery when you actually received the item
  2. Initiate a chargeback through your bank before opening a platform dispute
  3. Pressure sellers into off-platform payments and then claim fraud
  4. Use stolen payment methods or compromised wallet credentials
  5. Resell items you received here and then dispute the original purchase
  6. Coordinate with sellers to fake transactions for money laundering

What sellers must not do

  1. List items you don't actually have or can't deliver
  2. Sell the same digital code or activation key to multiple buyers
  3. Deliver invalid codes and claim they "worked when I sent them"
  4. Bait-and-switch — list one product and deliver something different
  5. Use fake reviews, ask friends to leave positive feedback, or buy reviews from third parties
  6. Refuse to deliver after payment is escrowed without a valid reason
  7. Threaten or pressure buyers into leaving 5-star reviews

What no one is allowed to do

  1. Use EscrowWays to launder money or process unauthorized transactions
  2. Deliberately abuse the escrow system to harm another user
  3. Exploit security bugs in the platform — report them to abuse@escrowways.com instead
  4. Manipulate prices through fake bidding or coordinated listings
  5. Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the platform

We may report serious fraud to law enforcement and any payment partners or banks involved.

Intellectual property — only sell what you legally own

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to sell what you list.

  1. Don't list copyrighted content (movies, music, software, ebooks, courses) that isn't yours
  2. Don't sell trademarked products without authorization from the brand
  3. Don't copy other sellers' listing photos, descriptions, or marketing material
  4. Don't use major brand logos in ways that suggest an official partnership
  5. Don't resell items where the original purchase terms prohibit resale (unless you've negotiated permission)

If you believe someone is selling your copyrighted work without permission, send a takedown notice to copyright@escrowways.com with:

  1. Proof you own the copyright
  2. A link to the offending listing
  3. A description of how it infringes your rights

We respond to valid takedown requests within 48 hours.

How we enforce these rules

We don't operate on rigid three-strike rules. The severity of what you did matters more than how many times you did it.

Warning — for first-time minor issues

  1. Email and in-platform notification
  2. Clear explanation of which rule was broken
  3. Chance to fix the issue (edit listing, refund buyer, etc.)
  4. Your account stays active

Temporary suspension — for repeat issues or moderate violations

  1. Account suspended for 7 to 30 days
  2. Pending orders frozen during suspension
  3. Funds in escrow released to affected parties if a buyer was harmed
  4. After suspension ends, you can resume normal use unless we decide otherwise

Permanent ban — for severe or repeated violations

  1. Account closed permanently
  2. All listings removed
  3. IP address and device may be blocked from creating new accounts
  4. Pending funds returned to the affected party (buyer in fraud cases, seller in fair cases)
  5. You may not create a new account on EscrowWays

Legal action — for fraud, money laundering, or criminal behaviour

  1. Account data preserved for investigation
  2. Information shared with law enforcement when legally required
  3. Civil action to recover damages
  4. Coordination with banks, payment partners, and platform partners

Pakistani law

EscrowWays operates from Pakistan and follows applicable local laws, including those covering electronic transactions, consumer protection, digital commerce, and anti-money-laundering. When required by law, we cooperate with Pakistani authorities including the FIA, SBP, and FBR.

If you use EscrowWays from outside Pakistan, you're still bound by these rules and Pakistani law applies to your account. Some features may be limited based on your country.

How we update this policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time as we learn what works and what doesn't, or as laws change. When we update:

  1. Material changes are announced at least 14 days before taking effect
  2. Registered users get an email and an in-platform notification
  3. Continued use of the platform after the change means you accept the updated rules
  4. If you disagree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect

The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last updated.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell my old Netflix or Spotify account?

Only if you can prove you own it — purchase receipt, account in your name, never previously sold. Even then, the streaming service's terms may prohibit transfer. The buyer takes that risk. We require you to disclose this clearly in the listing.

What happens if I accidentally break a rule?

First-time minor mistakes usually get a warning, not a ban. Read the warning email carefully and fix the issue (edit your listing, refund your buyer, whatever applies). Repeated or serious violations escalate quickly.

Can I sell software I created myself?

Absolutely — that's exactly the kind of listing we love. List it under Software & Tools, include screenshots, describe what it does, and price it honestly. No special permissions needed.

My listing was removed without warning. Why?

Severe violations (counterfeit goods, illegal items, scams, hacked accounts) get removed immediately without warning. Check your email for our explanation. If you believe the removal was a mistake, appeal to support@escrowways.com within 7 days.

Can I list adult content if it's "tasteful" or "artistic"?

No. EscrowWays is a general-audience platform. Adult content of any kind, regardless of tone or framing, is prohibited.

Can I use EscrowWays from outside Pakistan?

Yes, but our payment methods are primarily for Pakistani users (JazzCash, EasyPaisa, SadaPay, local bank transfer). International users may have limited deposit and withdrawal options.

How do I appeal a suspension or ban?

Email support@escrowways.com within 7 days of the action. Include your account email and a clear explanation of why you think the action was wrong. We review every appeal personally and respond within 5 business days.

What if I disagree with a dispute resolution?

You can request a senior admin review within 48 hours of the original decision. Email support@escrowways.com with your order ID and reason. Senior review decisions are final.

Can I sell to international buyers?

Yes, but international buyers may face longer delivery times for some products. International payments and withdrawals depend on the gateway you're using.

Do I need a CNIC to sell?

You can browse and buy without a CNIC, but to sell or withdraw funds above PKR 10,000, you need to complete CNIC verification. This is required by Pakistani anti-money-laundering rules and protects everyone on the platform.
